Rose Festival

The Rose Festival

We are celebrating the beautiful rose during our rose festival. Come and see (and smell) our roses.

Our own grown roses

We grow all our roses and are a member of the British Rose Grower’s Association. We use a technique known as rose budding to propagate roses and the entire process takes over 18-24 months to produce the roses you see for sale in our garden centres. We grow over 170 varieties including many David Austin English roses so do come along. During the festival we will have several special offers and some varieties will be discounted.

Café delights

Our 1925 Kitchen Café is also celebrating the rose. Why not have a refreshment break during your visit and sample Luscombe's Rose Bubbly with a slice of Rose & Apple cake. They are delicious!

Enter our Prettiest Rose Competition

As part of the Sun newspaper’s “The Nation’s Prettiest Rose Competition” we will be running St Bridget’s Prettiest Rose alongside. To enter this competition, all you need to do is: Pick the prettiest rose from your garden, pop it in a non-returnable labelled bottle and bring it to one of our centres by 12 Noon on the 23rd of June for us to display. Winners announced at 2pm. One lucky winner from each of our two Garden Centres will receive a stunning St Bridget Nurseries rose hamper worth £50. In addition to this prize, a photo of the winning roses will be posted on sungardening.co.uk, where Peter Seabrook, Steve and Val Bradley will judge “The Nation’s Prettiest Rose”. The top prize is £1,000, with a second prize of £500 and a third prize of £250! Winners announced on 30th June in The Sun newspaper.   Please note access to our nursery rose field is not possible.
