Deputy Planteria supervisor

We are looking for an individual to work four or five days a week (including one weekend day) split between our two garden centres. You must have proven horticultural knowledge and experience, being able to identify and give advice on a wide variety of garden trees, shrubs, roses and herbaceous as well as annuals and vegetables. You must excel at providing exceptional customer service and constantly implement ways to improve the customer experience. You will work closely with the planteria supervisor and deputise in their absence. You will need to give outstanding customer service and maintain the plant areas to a high standard. Working alongside your team members you will be tasked to drive sales opportunities and profitability.

Planteria customer service sales assistants

We are looking for two individuals to work three days a week (including one weekend day) at each of our garden centres. You must have proven horticultural knowledge and experience, being able to identify and give advice on a wide variety of garden trees, shrubs, roses and herbaceous as well as annuals and vegetables. You must excel at providing exceptional customer service. Previous retail experience with a flare in merchandising is also desirable.

Please note we will also consider candidates looking for four days or two days of work but one weekend day each week will be included for each job role.

Garden Centre Manager

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude to head up our Clyst St Mary garden centre team and inspire them to take the centre to the next level.
To manage the running of the centre enabling everyone to inspire, educate & equip customers.
Constantly find ways of improving the centre & motivating your staff to achieve agreed company targets & objectives. You will drive performance, maximising commercial potential and profitability. You will ensure that the company’s expected high level of customer service is maintained and encourage your team to take ownership of the customer experience and journey. 
You will need to demonstrate your past achievements driving exceptional retail standards and achieving targets and KPI’s though whole team delivery.

You will be a ‘hands on’ manager, leading through example and not afraid to get your hands dirty. You will be responsible for the site’s day to day operation including tidiness, cleanliness, staff rotas, cashing up, organising daily tasks, stock management, waste management, purchasing of stock, planning displays and sales strategies as well as staff management.
You will ensure that the centre operates within current Health & Safety legislation with support of the HSE co-ordinator. You will be supported by three departmental supervisors.

Ideally you will have worked within the horticultural retail trade and understands the seasonal challenges that a business like this can face and can plan and organise staff and goods accordingly, if not you will have proven retail management experience and a passion for gardening. You must have great communication skills, be a motivating and inspiring leader who can instil confidence in staff and get them to perform at their best.
We want someone who is a planner and can look ahead to insure that stock is available when needed, displays are always topical and can respond to the challenges of every season.

Weekend Shop sales assistants

We are looking for two individuals to work one weekend day a week for each of our garden centres.

As you will be required to work alternating weekend days (Saturday one week, Sunday the next) you must be legally able to work full days on those days. The hours will be 9-5 or 9.30 to 5.30 on Saturdays and 1030 to 4.30 on Sundays.

You will join our shop team where your job will include, helping customers load their purchases in their cars, bringing trolleys in from the car park, cleaning the shop, pricing goods, serving customers at the till (training provided), assisting with stock takes, stocking displays and general customer assistance including answering the phone.
